To all Citizens of the World
I'd like to share with you my passion for travel. Below is a list of the countries where I have set my foot on their sovereign soil. I plan to have many pictures and links here in the future. If you would like to trade travel stories, I'd love to listen to yours (especially about longhaul travel) and to share my own.

I've heard that there are about 400 countries in the world. Since I have only been to around 30 (but 360o around the globe twice), I have alot more of the world to see!! I usually work in my profession to make my way around the world. Besides visiting many places in the States [including Washington D.C. ;-) ] and living in Washington state, California, Hawaii, and Texas, I have lived and worked in Saudi Arabia for 3 years as a single American female. Now *that* was an EXPERIENCE!!

I am now in my second career as a software engineer. Java and HTML (web pages) are my current specialty. My experience is mostly under Unix but also basic Windows. Before Java came along, I wrote C for large client-server systems under Unix for several years. I do many other kinds of useful things too. For example, in my first career I was a cardiology nurse (that's a specialty in hearts), critical care. I also have written for the Italian Java ezine called MokaByte.

If you know of a work opportunity anywhere in the world, please let me know. I used to speak a couple languages (Italian, French, Arabic) passably but I am now very rusty except in English. I also usually learn a few phrases and important words amounting to between twenty and a hundred words in the native language of the country I'm about to visit. (The Greek taxi driver's face lit up with smiles when I thanked him in Greek! I can't count in Turkish or Tibetan anymore though.)

- Marie.
